Transmission lines are used as an “interstate highway system” for electricity: they are a vital link used to deliver electricity over long distances from power sources to transmission substations closer to homes and businesses. With over 2,700 miles of transmission lines and 353 substations across Washington, our teams are constantly working to ensure you have the power you need and that safe, reliable service and infrastructure is in place for us to meet our clean energy goals. Puget Sound Energy conducts transmission services in accordance with PSE’s Open Access Transmission Tariff (“OATT”) and adheres to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requirements and North American Electric Reliability Corporation standards.
